Thunder

My heart thunders when it’s in your presence,

and large clouds begin to form in my eyes

you are all I see; your beauty my sky.

My arms reach for you with much impatience

your touch grounds me back into existence

your gaze lightens me like glowing fireflies.

And my ethereal love multiplies

when my lips part from yours with reluctance

If our love endures, my heart will never bleed.

My lips and eyes will know but only smiles.

Palm in palm dillydallying earth for miles.

We will grow older together in glee.

But now my burning eyes know only rain.

My heart, with your absence, thunders in pain.
