On Friday November 3rd 2017, The English 350 Seminar gathered at 42nd street at 4th ave to visit the NYPL and Pforzheimer Collections. There were big lion statues up on front underneath the main staircase, which mainly presented the library. The students were astonished by all the huge sculptures and paintings, as they walked inside the building. They went to a main room to meet with the librarians and to know more about Shelley and Keats’s works from Elizabeth Denlinger and Issac Gewirtz. There were different works and letters presented for the students to observe that are written by Keats such as; “The Letter to Jane”, “The Letter to Fanny Brawne”, one of his sonnets called the “Sonnet to Sleep”, his first poem that he wrote “Hyperion” and many more of his works. One student points out, “How interesting it is to see all the original works of Keats in front of your eyes?!” The students were amazed and overwhelmed by taking pictures and from listening to all the information that the librarians had told them about.
